Composer's Note:
'Night Songs' features three short settings each exploring a different aspect of night. Completing the set is a reflective, lamenting cradle song, whose refrain, ‘Sleep my pretty one, sleep’, becomes ever more impassioned, before finding a gentle note of closure.
